Christmas Gifs

Problem:

The Christmas season is a highly competitive time for brands on social media. Audiences are bombarded with festive promotions and content, making it difficult to stand out and capture attention. Samsung wanted to connect with their followers on a more personal level during this period, offering something unique and shareable that would genuinely resonate with their audience and foster a sense of community.


Insight:
We recognised that amidst the holiday rush, people craved moments of joy, connection, and shared experiences.


Solution:

We developed the "Christmas Gifs" campaign, a series of short, heartwarming videos and animated GIFs that captured relatable moments and emotions associated with Christmas. To ensure these resonated with Samsung's followers, we analyzed social data and audience insights, identifying key themes such as nostalgia, family traditions, and acts of kindness, as well as opportunities to subtly integrate Samsung products into these heartwarming narratives.

These "gifs" focused on:

  • Nostalgic themes: Childhood memories, holiday traditions, and festive rituals.

  • Emotional connections: Family gatherings, acts of giving, and expressions of love.

  • Humorous situations: Lighthearted moments and relatable mishaps that captured the spirit of the season.

We distributed these "gifs" across Samsung's social media channels, encouraging followers to share them with their loved ones and express their own holiday sentiments.


Results:

  • Increased engagement: The campaign saw a 23% uplift in social media engagement during December.

  • Generated social sharing: The shareable nature of the "gifs" encouraged widespread distribution and amplified the campaign's reach.
